Skills You Need In Dog Training

Dog training for your new puppy

So you’ve got a new puppy! This tiny ball of fluff looks so cute, it is love at first sight. The things you need for a new puppy are almost the same as that of a small child. These are the basics such as water, food and not quite changing of diapers - but close. Dog training can sometimes be quite a task. However it is well worth the effort once it’s accomplished. From the time you start the dog training until you finish, you have to be persistent and put in a lot of work. However, in dog training you must always be gentle and have lots of patience.

    House training a Puppy

Dog training with a puppy has to start immediately. If the puppy is not house trained, you have to start by bringing the puppy outdoors on a frequent basis. Watch when he/she does what he has to do and offer lots of praise and a treat. In this way, the puppy will learn that the outdoors is the place for this business. You also need some training here too, so learn to carry a pooper scooper with you. Teach the puppy his/her name by calling the dog on a frequent basis. Once the puppy gets used to this, he/she will come to you when you call. You can also train the dog to come when you whistle.

The needs of your new puppy

When you bring your puppy home, you will need a water dish. Start with a small one that is comfortable for your pup, but you may have to change as the puppy grows. The food dish should be the same - small enough for your puppy’s comfort. You’ll find there are many different widths and lengths in dishes so choose carefully. You will also need a six-foot leash for dog training. Since most towns and cities do not also dogs to roam, you have to train him/her to walk with a leash. A leash is the best dog training tool for puppies. The collar you use should be a buckle one because they are the easiest for the puppy to adjust to. You will go through many of these also while your puppy is growing. This is all a part of dog training.
