First of all, do the beginning quests cause they will let you in to some more possibilities.
Kill creatures to gain more stats to be stronger, then go to the dungeons/caves/mines and beat them(caves), means go to the last level and find yourself some fantastic treasures.
Rats and Wolves with give you fur and skins you can sell in the general shop, as lots of other items also, but attention teh price they give you for it there, maybe you want to put it up in your shop for a bit more profit.
Open up your own shop and use it as marketplace to do trades with other players, by selling stuff.
Remember thou, there are some items what is hard to get before you get higher in that skill, and those might be useful and wise to keep in case you need them later.
Selling stuff, you earn more money on the items if they are repaired, like armors and weapons, you got to wield them for to be able to repair.
Try to go in battle with them repaired, cause they protect you more then.
Talk to little Olie.
Visit all buildings you can reach, in case they have something for you
Try to do tasks and jobs when you get that possibility.
