Dog Obedience Training and Dog Care

Is your best friend right for dog obedience training?

There are many reasons for taking your puppy or dog to a least a basic training course. The most obvious reason of course is so that your dog will behave -- especially when guests arrive over the holidays carrying edible gifts!

As a pet owner it can be very embarrassing if you have friends come to the door and your dog immediately jumps up onto them before they even make it into the house. By attending even a basic dog obedience training course your dog should soon learn not to jump up (when inappropriate).

The goal of a basic obedience training course is simply for the dog handler or dog owner to learn basic control over their animal.
Consider:
- Do you want your dog to sit under your kitchen table begging for table scraps at every meal?
- Do you want your dog to come back when you call?
- Do you want to your dog to heel when you take him for a walk (rather than him/her energetically leading YOU on a walk)?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then maybe a dog obedience training course is for you! (well, for your four-legged friend that is)

And yes, to answer the first question of older dog owners, old dogs CAN learn new tricks. If they attend dog obedience training that is...
